Types of Orthodontic Treatment We Offer
We offer a variety of orthodontic treatments for patients of all ages in Denver. The type of orthodontic treatment that is right for a patient will depend on their age, severity of their orthodontic condition, as well as their personal preferences. Some of the most common types of orthodontic treatment include braces, clear aligners, and retainers.
Damon System Braces
Damon system braces are becoming increasingly popular. They are made of clear brackets and thin wires, and they use special slides to hold the wire in place. This design makes Damon System Braces less noticeable than traditional metal braces. They are also easier to keep clean and cause less discomfort than metal braces.
Invisalign Clear Aligners
Cody Dental Group is a trained Invisalign orthodontist provider in Denver, CO. Invisalign is a type of clear aligner that uses a series of custom-made, nearly invisible trays to gradually shift your teeth into the desired position. They are much less noticeable than traditional metal braces due to their clear nature. In addition, they can be removed for eating and cleaning, so you don’t have to worry about food getting stuck in your braces or difficult brushing and flossing.
Insignia Orthodontics
Insignia orthodontics is a system that uses 3D computer imaging to create customized braces for each patient. Insignia orthodontic treatment is designed to be more efficient and effective than traditional braces, and it can often be completed in a shorter time frame.
Orthodontic Retainers
Retainers are devices used to keep teeth in their new position after orthodontic treatment. There are two types of orthodontic retainers, removable and fixed. Removable retainers are made of plastic and wire, and can be taken out for eating, brushing, and flossing. They need to be worn as directed by your orthodontist. Fixed retainers are bonded to the back of your teeth and can’t be removed. You’ll need to take extra care when brushing and flossing to clean around them.
Early Orthodontic Treatment and Intervention
Early orthodontic treatment, also known as pediatric orthodontics, is treatment started before all permanent teeth have come in. Early treatment may be recommended when your child’s dentist or orthodontist identifies potential problems with the way the teeth and jaws are developing. The goal of early treatment is to intercept potential problems and guide the eruption of the permanent teeth into a more favorable position. Early treatment does not always mean that your child will need braces. In some cases, it may simply involve monitoring by your child’s orthodontist to ensure that no problems develop.
