About Cody Dental Group / Why We’re Unique
The Cody Dental Group is a true group practice modeled on the Mayo Clinic’s clinical philosophy of general dentists teaming up with specialists to offer patients a full spectrum of care under one roof. This collaborative approach places an emphasis on preventive care and is our trademark. Today, Cody is the oldest continually operating dental group in Colorado and to our knowledge, in the entire United States.
Though each of our dentists conducts their own unique practice within the group, we believe the “group” environment has enhanced the standards of care and convenience for our patients. The daily interactions of general practitioners, dental specialists, lab technicians, hygienists and assistants — all working within the same facility — ensure a smooth flow of information across the dental health disciplines. Patients have the option of combining consultations and treatments from separate disciplines into the continuity of a single appointment, in a single location.
There has been increasing evidence that the overall health and well-being of every individual is significantly influenced by their oral health. Heart disease, diabetes, stroke and auto immune diseases, to name a few, are systemic conditions that have been identified to be related to dental diseases. Since 1946 the Cody Dental Group has been dedicated to a philosophy of treating each patient’s specific dental needs with an eye on their overall health. Our unique practice structure provides our patients with years of experience and an effective multi-disciplinary approach under one roof.
In today’s world of “corporate dentistry” with more emphasis on volume than relationships, and an increasing number of insurance companies who attempt to take decisions out of the hands of patients and their dentist, the Cody Dental Group stands apart. While we gladly help our patients access the benefits of their dental insurance, we limit our participation with dental insurance companies who attempt to interfere with the doctor-patient relationship, which we view as critical to providing the best dental care possible.
